Going Away Luncheon
I had the privilege of hosting a going away luncheon for Cynthia Clements, wife of Associate Pastor Mark Clements, this past weekend. My dear friend, Kathy Hether, helped me with hostess duties. She is always such a big help; I can’t thank her enough for all she does for me as well as the church.

Everybody brought a salad. The menu was for salads, desserts, and focaccia bread. Yummy! We decorated the place all in pink – Cynthia’s favorite color – and had it looking like an outdoor tea party. There were vases on each table with tiny red and pink roses, pink tablecloths, and place settings wrapped in pink napkins with a ribbon and little red rosebud.
The ladies of New Hope Christian Fellowship are so great! They all came together to honor Cynthia, who is one of the kindest, gentlest, most wonderful ladies I have the pleasure of knowing. Her spirit is so lovely – and she’s lovely on the outside too! She is going to be sorely missed but she will take a little piece of us all when she moves with Pastor Mark to New Hampshire where they will head their own church. Cynthia got some really nice gifts to remind her of us, including a beautiful little angel, jewelry, flowery notepads, and a pink leather-bound journal.
It is always so much fun when the ladies can all get together and share an afternoon of fellowship, fun, and good eats. I am definitely looking forward to the next one, but hope that the occasion is not one when we are losing such a valuable member of our congregation.
